Restoring an Anvil with our Welder
1) In this example we took a 1mm diamond ball bur and ground out the old bad weld.
2) We pre-heated the part either with a small torch to about 275F-350F. Water did dissipate from the area we heated and we continued heating till no more water droplets appeared.
3) We used about 18 to 25 watt seconds of energy and sustained agitation. The tricky part was the final margin between the weld material and the original metal. So we lowered the to about 15ws and moved the overbuilt weld material to the margin. The metal cooled down some by now so we re-heated with the torch for the final finish welds
4) Grind and polish.
