Our Electrical Engineers Build Electrical Components

Nobody understands electronic components better than Sunstone. The design and manufacture of the necessary electronics for our renowned micro welders are accomplished in house. So, Sunstone micro welders satisfy every electrical engineer’s need for precision, flexibility, and durability. We face the same challenges you face, so we build very successful solutions.

Rubbing Shoulders with the Biggest and Brightest

On any given day Sunstone micro-welding specialists are fielding calls from engineers from the world’s largest or most innovative electronic manufacturers. Apple, Samsung, IBM, HP, GE, Siemens, and many others use Sunstone micro welders for fine wire welding, wire termination, circuit board traces, myriad electrical connections, hot bar-reflow soldering, PCB repair, pencil coils, and more. Truly, there’s no limit to what a Sunstone micro welder can do.

Spot Welders for welding Electronics

Sunstone’s expertise within the micro-spot resistance welding sectors is extremely useful when welding electronics. Since precision and low-heat inputs are important, our single pulse welder line is most useful for welding electronics.

Complex electrical components can be welded with the help of different handpiece accessories. These accessories help facilitate welding on materials such as connectors, cables, boards, and switches.

Spot Welding Applications – Electronics:

  • Electronic Components
  • Read/Write Armatures
  • Disc Drive Assemblies
  • Solenoid Assemblies
  • Electrical Connectors
  • Gas Sensors
  • Thermocouples
  • Meters
  • Solar Cells and Panels
  • Bulbs, Lamps, and Tubes

  • Micro Resistance - Dual Pulse CD Spot Welders

The dual pulse industrial capacitive discharge (CD) spot welder provides a substantially larger amount of weld energy combined with a finer range of power adjustment. As with Sunstone's other spot welders, the CDDP welders produces clean, strong welds. Pulse one heats the weld area to eliminate surface contaminants and seats the welding electrodes. Pulse two then makes a strong, secure weld. Both pulses occur within milli-seconds.

  • Linear DC

The Sunstone Linear DC welder is a completely unique resistance welding system with closed-loop feedback. Utilizing new patent pending technologies, the Linear DC welder has the power of a High-Frequency Inverter and the precision of a Linear DC. As mentioned, this is a completely unique product. It isn’t an HF welder since it does not require an external transformer, and it isn’t like typical Linear DC welders because it doesn’t use transistors to control the energy output. Yet, this product is able to perform the same functions as both of these technologies, and in most cases it has capabilities that exceed those of other HF or Linear DC welders – offering high repetition rates, fine low-energy control, and short or long weld times – without any of the drawbacks and inconveniences.
