Sunstone Working on Exciting Changes to the Orion 100c and 150s Micro Welders

"We reject the notion that a product can be just good enough," says Sunstone CEO Jonathan Young. "We believe our customers deserve better. And we know we can always make improvements to our welders. That's our desire, to continually advance our craft."

To that end, Sunstone announced changes to the Orion 100c and 150s pulse arc micro welders. “Our customers will notice a new look to these welders,” says CEO Jonathan Young. “In the spirit of continual improvement, a new exterior cover design will result in an attractive and modern look.” 

Sunstone is also making improvements to the welders’ interior engineering. “With years of development and customer feedback, any potential concerns in product design become apparent,” Young says. “We’re investing time into alleviating any concerns. Orion welders are known for their robust nature and we’re continuing that tradition with these improvements.” 

Perhaps the most exciting change will be to the welders’ software interface. The Orion 100c and 150s sport a digital touchscreen interface that simplifies operation. Sunstone is investing in a refresh of the software that will boost the products’ user experience. “In the last few years software design has rapidly changed,” Young says. “We’re leveraging new software design principles to change our interface and make it easier for our customers to learn and use an Orion welder. The total customer experience will change, and we’re excited by it.”
